Local 103 IBEW: Political powerhouse endorses President Biden and Vice President Harris for re-election

Union electricians say YES to Biden administration’s green energy transition powering good, union jobs throughout New England

DORCHESTER, MA – The most politically active union in New England has officially endorsed President Biden and Vice President Harris for re-election in 2024.

“President Biden and Vice President Harris are the leaders working people need now. Together, they have driven historic investments in clean, green energy that are powering thousands of union jobs throughout New England and across our country. Time and time again, President Biden and Vice President Harris have fought for workers rights and protections and held huge corporations accountable. That’s why thousands of Local 103 electricians are proud to stand with the most pro-union administration in our nation’s history,” said Lou Antonellis, Business Manager and Financial Secretary of Local 103 IBEW.

The Biden-Harris administration has led the nation out of the pandemic’s recession and created 15 million jobs since taking office, many of them union jobs with a living wage, affordable healthcare, and a secure retirement that working people can count on.

The administration’s historic investments in working people include:

  •  $1.2 trillion in American infrastructure, including roads, bridges and energy infrastructure;
  • $7.5 billion in federal investment in public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure with strong workforce standards;
  • Project labor agreements on all federal construction projects to create more opportunities for all workers, including working women and people of color;
  • And ensuring that all energy and transportation projects require prevailing wages for construction and repair work.

“President Biden has walked the strike line, held powerful corporations to account, and had our back. We’re proud to have his,” said Antonellis.

Local 103 IBEW members plan to take to the airwaves and the streets this election season to spread the word about the Biden administration’s track record of creating good jobs and powering an economy that truly works for everyone.
